Mobility Hubs – Introducing the concept

This is the first in a series of articles discussing the concept of Mobility Hubs and how they can help solve the problem of sustainable transport in our cities.

The article explains what a Mobility Hub is (there is no current absolute definition), and explores the socio-political and technological landscape which has led to current examples of Hubs in operation.

As a solution, Miles considers if Mobility Hubs are a way to find a balance between the needs of mass transit user and individual vehicle owners.

And finally there is an analysis of the two fundamental challenges facing the widespread roll-out of Mobility Hubs : the constantly evolving technology and the development of commercially viable business models.
